When you’re starting up your own businesses it’s important to make sure you’re doing exactly what you’ve set out to do, and in the early stages you may not be able to meet your competitor’s glossy image.
It’s easy to try to follow different competitors and constantly think about how you look to customers and whether you’re flash enough. That should not be the case so early on, and you need to understand what your audience is looking for. They may not be persuaded by a glossy website, perhaps straight forward content is more suitable, so remember that you don’t always have to be fancy and sparkly when you’re starting out.
Over time you may find that you have the funds to enhance your image, and perhaps you’ll one day have an office filled with the latest computer equipment and furniture, but that doesn’t have to come on day one. The only thing that matters when you start out is your aims, objectives, your audience’s needs and your financial plan.
